Our history
We invite you to discover the historical and cultural wealth of Casas Viejas since 1754. In the heart of San José Iturbide, a land rich in history and traditions, Casas Viejas has been born since 1754, an artisanal mezcal that honors the spirit of Guanajuato.
Our region, although not historically recognized as a mezcal producer, holds in its essence a legacy that time has almost erased.

We are the first

“The mezcal tour experience was unforgettable. Each tasting was a revelation of flavors, and the experts’ explanations made us understand the art behind each bottle. I didn’t even know how to drink mezcal, but I learned. I will definitely be back for another tasting.”

“Walking through the agave fields in Casas Viejas was magical. Seeing how they cultivate and care for each plant with such dedication connected me with our Mexican roots. I learned about the different types of agave and how each one has a special character. The landscape is impressive and the stories they told us, even more so. A place that reflects tradition.”

“I bought a bottle of Casas Viejas mezcal for a cool gift and ended up buying another one for myself. From the modern packaging to the exceptional taste, this is a product that reflects quality. When I shared it with friends, they were all fascinated with the taste.”
